Pa Ava's breath froze in her lungs even as her heart pumped like a jackhammer. She stared owl-eyed and motionless into hypnotic, dark brown eyes, the pupils and iris' were all but indistinguishable.
He held her gaze and slowly, nonchalantly, pulled back his hand, leaving a trail of sparks along her skin where his fingertips grazed. A corner of his mouth tilted whether in amusement or derision she could not tell.
She did not see that hand fist so tightly on his thigh his knuckles turned white.
"Apologies," he said. She assumed he referred to the accidental touch that set her veins on fire. "Allow me to help you."
What? Was he going to help her relieve the dark desires that were melting her into a gelatinous mass of wantonness?
Keeping his gaze locked on hers, he gestured to the leg rest. Ava's eyeballs was the only things that moved as they rolled to the right and down.
Oh that.
Before she provided a response, and perhaps it was better that he didn't wait, because he would have waited a very long time, he elongated his torso by half standing, reached over the partition, and smoothly removed the laptop bag that she had unwittingly jammed between the extended footrest and the inner corner of the sleep capsule.
"May I," he asked rather unnecessarily, since she hadn't yet drawn breath or found her voice, and pressed the recline key so that her feet finally adjusted into a comfortable position.
Involuntarily, Ava heaved a contented sigh. Finally, her lungs were functioning again. Now that she had the opportunity to look him full in the face, she decided he wasn't as irresistible as she first thought.

I give this book, the second one I have read by this author, five stars. The story is well written and holds you captive until you've finished. Ryu and Ava's story is one of second chances, proving that no matter what you've done wrong, you can always change your spots and redeem yourself. This is an enthralling and captivating romance with deeply moving characters, fraught with emotional turmoil. I think on Pure Healing I made the statement that I love when the hero does what has to be done even though he doesn't want to. Dark Desires is the same way and I absolutely can not wait to read more by this author.

Aja has been writing stories since the age of six, and novels since the age of thirteen. While she'd be the first to admit that those early efforts weren't particularly good, she sure loved putting them down on paper.!
The best part of writing, according to Aja, is that it is completely organic, the way the stories develops. When the inspiration hits, she writes just so she herself can learn where the characters are headed, because oftentimes they take her by surprise! It's her ultimate dream to share her stories with as many readers as she possibly can.
Her other loves include art, cooking, old movies (anything with Audry Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Redford, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Clark Gable and all the song and dance numbers because she can't watch them and not be happy).
She adores taking long walks with her husband and running after her two rambunctious kids. She has traveled extensively (all seven continents except Antartica) and has a multi-cultural upbringing. She speaks two and a half languages and binge watch TV shows when the mood strikes.
Aja has a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Economics and two Master's degrees, one of which is in East Asian studies.
