Light Shines on Promise Lodge

Hello everyone and welcome! Today I'd like to introduce Charlotte Hubbard and her Amish/Inspirational Romance, Light Shines on Promise Lodge! I would like to thank Goddess Fish Promotions for allowing me to be part of this tour.

BLURB:

For abandoned wife, Annabelle Beachey, Promise Lodge is a a place of refuge where she can gain the confidence and self-sufficiency she once had.But she and the other residents are dismayed when newly arrived Bishop Clayton King claims the community is to progressive and sets out to change its ways. Worse, her husband, Phineas returns, expecting her to give up her faith the same way he gave up his. He won't leave Promise Lodge without her...

But little by little, Annabelle is determined and her new forthrightness makes Phineas realize his mistakes-and truly listen to his wife for the first time. Meanwhile, Annabelle finds herself feeling compassion-and even renewed love-for her newly humble, more caring husband. And as Bishop Clayton's attempt to control Promise Lodge threatens everything its residents have built, Phineas and Annabelle must work together with unshakable courage to save their new home-and their opportunity for forever happiness.

EXCERPT:

With a pitcher in each hand, Annabelle made her way into the crowded dining room. The tables were close together to accommodate the large crowd, so she walked along the tables' ends and had someone pass her the pitchers that needed refilling. She was stepping toward the table nearest the archway that led to the lodge's lobby when the sight of a solitary man in black froze her in place.

Phineas was watching her, as though he'd been following her progress along the outer edge of the dining room...waiting for her to notice him. He held her gaze with the pale, penetrating green eyes that had often made her heart thud  in her chest as she anticipated his judgement-his criticism and correction.

The blood rushed from Annabelle's head. She wasn't aware that she'd dropped the two big pitchers until she heard the noisy clatter of plastic hitting the hardwood floor and felt ice water filling her shoes.

What's Phineas doing here? How did he find me-and what does he want?

MY REVIEW:

***** stars

I don't usually care much for Historical Romance but this book may have just changed my mind. I love this story! I've always been fascinated with the Amish faith and the simple way of life. I enjoyed this read very much! The characters in the book will strike a cord in your heart. The story is well written and isn't unlike much of what happens in the real world. Charlotte Hubbard is a wonderful storyteller and the book is full of love. If you like a story full of love and second chances the Light Shines on Promise Lodge is the book to read. I liked it from the beginning all the way to the end and will definitely read other books by this author.

Shadows of the Dead

***** stars

I love this book so much that I went out and bought the other two in the series. I read it in a day and from the very first page it had me hooked! I could not put it down. The story is engrossing and the characters are wonderful. The way Spencer Kope tells the story reminds me a little bit of Robert Crais and his Elvis Cole/Joe Pike novels. "Steps" is funny, and smart and with the "shine," he is unforgettable. Every time I put it down I could not wait to pick it up again. It is full of mystery, intrigue and humor. I absolutely can not wait to read everything this author has done! Spencer Kope is an author who will have you staying up all night, no matter what you read by him.

I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this title in exchange for my honest review.

Pivot

**** stars

Even though Alexandra Ivy and Rebecca Zanetti are new to me, Kat Martin is one of my favorite authors ever since I read her Brody's of Alaska books. Her stories are very entertaining and Pivot is no exception! I really enjoyed it. It has ever thing you could want, romance, suspense and even a bit of humor. My favorite story in the book was the first but they were all good. Pivot is ride full of thrills that you will find hard to put down. If you like romantic suspense, you will not be disappointed!

I would like to thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this title in response for my honest review.

Daughters of Wild Rose Bay

**** stars

I love Ireland and this book was set on it's rocky  coast. Daughters of Wild Rose Bay by Susanne O'Leary is a heartwarming story of love and second chances. I really loved Jasmine and Aiden's story. It is about hope and heartache and what can happen if you dare to dream and never give up. I would love to find a place like Wild Rose Bay and put down roots.

I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this title in exchange for my honest review.

For Whom the Book Tolls

**** stars

I originally picked this book because I like the cover. I love small town reads and I love mysteries. This book does not disappoint. It's a great beginning to a series and I'd like to read the rest. t was a wonderful story and kept me guessing to the end. Highly entertaining.

I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this title in exchange for my honest review.

Silent Shadows

**** stars

I love stories set in small towns and I love a good romance. This book delivers both. Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters is the third book in the series. Although it was slow to start, the more I read it, the more I enjoyed it. Being a nurse myself I can totally relate to Pecca. The story is a good, clean read that just makes you feel good. It is a story of love and second chances. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Lizzie's Heart

***** Stars

This is an absolute fantastic read! I really enjoyed it. Lizzie and Stephen are amazing characters and their story is irresistible. I'll say it again. I never would have thought I would like Amish books. It's not that I don't like the Amish, I do, I just never thought it would be something I would like to read. I was so wrong. I fell in love from page one. It has romance, humor and even a little bit of mystery. The characters are strong and realistic and when you add in Lizzie's kittens and Stephen's puppies, it just can't miss. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a feel good story that will make you laugh.

Susan Lantz Simpson is a wonderful storyteller and I can't wait to read her other books. I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read this title in exchange for my honest review.

Death at High Tide

**** stars

Death at Hide Tide by Hannah Dennison is the first book in her Islands Sisters series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book from the beginning to the end. I read it in one sitting on a rainy day, which, I believe is the perfect weather for a cozy mystery. It's the story of Evie Mead, whose husband, Robert, suddenly dies of a hear attack. She believes she's broke but does not realize that she has inherited a hotel on one of the Isles of Scilly. Her and her sister, Margot, travel to Tregarrick Rock where the hotel is located and soon finds themselves thrust into a murder mystery.

I really loved this book. It is full of danger and romance and though I have never heard of this author before I can not wait o read more by her. If you like cozy mysteries, you will lover this one! I loved the setting and the relationship the sisters have.It is truly a good book.

I would like to thank NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this title in exchange for my honest review.

Power Multiplied

****1/2 Stars

Ok so when I was asked to review this  book, I wasn't really sure if I would like it. I've never been much into Science Fiction and the "Alien Child," kind of got me to thinking that this is what it is about,  but I love animals and I loved the concept of the whale and a woman who would do anything for the beautiful creature, add to it the fact that there is somewhat of a psychic connection between the two and I had to read it! I'm glad I did. The story was very entertaining and the characters wonderful!. It started with a bang and didn't stop until the very end. I really enjoyed it, a lot more than I thought I would. Cathy Parker is a gifted writer and she knows how to tell a story. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a book that is hard to put down. This is book 2 of the Power Rising Trilogy. It was so much fun to read. I started it and literally read it in one sitting.
